Title: Millions lives
Context : This song it to protest against guns violence in the United States, I made this song as part of a project for my high school
[Verse 1]
We are in twenty twenty-six
But we still think like nineteen twenty-six
Same fear, same hate, different guns and clips
Another headline, another name on the list
Is that what you want to see?
Birthday missed and chair left free
How many people have to die
Before we open our eyes?
[Bridge]
Americans are twenty-six times more likely
To be shot and killed than others overseas
[Chorus]
Every day, three hundred twenty-seven fall
In the land that says it protects us all
More guns than people in these streets
When did safety turn into a memory?
Over a million lives scarred in ten years’ time
People die and the government still think it’s fine
[Verse 2]
School halls turned into crime scenes
Tell me, how is this still reality?
A child draws pictures of a safer place
Where there is no hate, "just peace here"
We see there name on TV
But we just continue living
When will people stand up to speak?
Now it’s our time to change the story
[Bridge]
Americans are twenty-six times more likely
To be shot and killed than others overseas
[Chorus]
Every day, three hundred twenty-seven fall
In the land that says it protects us all
More guns than people in these streets
When did safety turn into a memory?
Over a million lives scarred in ten years’ time
People die and the government still think it’s fine
